Youn Ming
A distinctively sweet and robust green tea from the high mountains of Yunnan province. Unlike grassy Japanese teas, Yunnan Ming features large, silver-tipped leaves that brew into a clear, yellow-green liquor with a mellow, fruity character. A forgiving tea that is rarely bitter.
Description
While Yunnan is famous for its black teas, this Green Yunnan Ming is a hidden gem treasured by tea lovers for its unique profile. Grown at high altitudes ("Cloud South"), the tea bushes develop large, succulent leaves rich in antioxidants.
The flavor profile is vastly different from the vegetal, steamed teas of Japan. It is fuller-bodied, offering notes of toasted sweet corn, fresh hay, and a hint of stone fruit (plum or apricot) with a subtle floral aroma. It has a very low astringency, making it an excellent choice for those who usually find green tea too bitter. It is a "cozy" green tea that tastes great even if steeped a little too long.
